Welcome to the new BRHL Homepage!

Eventually when the league switches to the new simulator next season you will see a lot more user content on the main page. I am also in the process of moving away from thebrhl.com by moving the entire league to the same host as the BRHL2.

This home page can also be said to be in "beta" mode as I will still be tinkering with colour schemes and such. I am aiming for a more cleaner, uncluttered look. Comments and suggestions are welcomed; however bear in mind that my html skills are still somewhat limited.

BRHL Season 8 Champions - The New Jersey Devils!

Dominant is the only way to describe the New Jersey Devil playoff run. The final series with St. Louis only lasted 5 games although two were one goal games. The run to the finals went through Tampa Bay, Boston and Atlanta with the Devils only losing a grand total of 3 games in the entire playoffs. Alexander Ovechkin added to his trophy case with a Conn Smyth trophy. 27 points in 19 games were enough to lead the playoffs in scoring. The Devils utilized a balanced attack throughout the playoffs with two very balanced scoring lines with Jason Spezza, Ovechkin and Simon Gagne in a starring role and Jason Arnott, Martin Havlat and Marco Sturm providing a solid amount of secondary scoring.

Defensively, the Devils leaned on a mostly inexperienced blue line with Wade Redden the only veteran presence. But in the new NHL, a mobile blue line is key, and the Devils proved it was good enough with Joni Pitkanen, Kevin Bieksa and Fedor Tyutin taking a starring role. And the last line of defense Mikka Kiprussoff had a fantastic playoffs with an incredible 16-3 record.

The veteran presence of Gary Roberts seemed to calm the team in several games when it looked like they were facing adversity. All in all the Devils were solid in every facet and look to continue contending for years to come.

Congratulations George Bachul and the New Jersey Devils!
